Title: Traffic Master
Post by: robbo299 on 30 December 2007, 00:53:49
Hi, Just been searching through e-bay for Omega bits and saw an ad for a Traffic Master switch and air vent. As an Omega owner of 3 weeks i was puzzled as to what this (then) unknown switch did as i was waiting for a manual to arrive and didn't want to try it without knowing what it did. When i finally got my manual there was no mention of it in it. Can anyone give me any info on it please? ie. what it does.. etc.

Hi,

If you have Traffic Master installed, you'l have a TM button on the Dash.

press it once and it should say Traffic Master, through your stereo system.

To use it you have to pay between 25 - 30 pound a year (well wortth it)

cant find the TM web site at the moment, but I know its on the Vauxhall.co.uk web site.

Looks quite alive to me according to their website, although there is'nt much talk or info on the actual basic trafficmaster, look like they are being named Smartnav, smartrac etc., look and you will see.

It's a seperate manual... what do you need to know in particular? :-/

PM your e-mail address to me if I can help further! ;)

P.S.

This is  a C&P'd message from my basic enquiry to Trafficmaster.

Sirs,
I've heard on the grapevine, that, there is a posibillity that you could be closing down the Oracle service on Trafficmaster...

Could you please advise..

Yours Concerned

TM Oracle has its own 3 page pamphlet to describe its operation.  If you get 'Licence Expired' msg, you need to pay your dosh....

Err.. been renewing every year since the car was new, no one mentioned discontinuation...? I do expect that as some point of time TMC will make the old TrafficMaster system obsolete, but hopefully not just yet...

(When I say obsolete, I mean that the bridge sensors will still be in use, it is just that the only way to get the info will be through TMC and not through the old Traffic Master system)

If the license is not renewed, TrafficMasfer comes up with annoying 'License expired' messages, so some owners disconnected it... the receiver box it is under the kick panel but can't remember which side (driver's or passenger), I am sure it is in the Maintenance Guides section somewhere....

Its probably been disconnected when the aftermarket stereo was added as it uses the radio speakers.
