Hi to all.
purchased a 1998 2.5 cdx estate in the summer with 126.000 on the clock and a few little probs.
a couple allready sorted a few still to fix one being no heat.
i have tried to flush water through two pipes in bulk head but can only get water to flow through bottom pipe. does this mean i am doing something wrong or that there is a blockage in the matrix.
thanks for any help

Errr....when it goes through the one pipe....where does it go?
It should come out the other pipe!
I assume you are flushing the matrix pipes at the rear left of the engine bay.

hi mark,
there are three pipes in all connected by what i assume is a therm valve. i took this off and the water was coming out of this pipe to the right of the other two and behind engine.

Heater matrix feed and return pipes are at the back of the engine bay/drivers side below brake servo.Ther is a guide as to how to remove the 2 pipes as they are push fit with a collete arrangement to seal.
If you remove them both water should go in the top and come out the bottom,or atleast it will do when and if the heater matrix is flushed out.Sounds more like you are at the HBV which is at the back of the plenum on the passenger side.

hi amba.
pipes are on drivers side to the right of the servo, but are connected to what looks like a three way valve by jubilee clips.
these are what i undid to flush and took of the valve. does this sound like what you explained.
thanks dave

Thats the heater bypass valve.....it bypasses the heater matrix if the aircon is on max cold. It should have a small vac pipe connected to the top of it to control if its in bypass or heat mode that comes from the bulk head.
If you want to flush the matrix you need to disconnect the quick release connectors from the bulk head and connect the hose up...

will have another go tomorrow,
