On a 3.0 v6 should the idle be smooth at 650rpm or should the car vibrate noticably? When ECO is on the rpm drops to 500 and it is then smooth. It is not particuarly loud and it does not sound like timing is out...
I think I distantly remember a time when it was smooth, but it could my imagination. I have fitted new plugs twice - first was VX plugs and then later Irridium plugs, gapped correctly. Also fitted a complete set of HT leads.

The vibration could be comming from the aircon compressor.
When ECO is pressed this turns off the compressor, hence the rpm drops.

650rpm sounds a tad high -
Check for air leaks.

Spot on with the compressor running.....

For a V6? Really? Mind idles at about 500rpm with compressor running, and 450 without...

The Elite idles at 500 rpm on gas, but it feels too low and a little lumpy.
On petrol the Elite idles at 650rpm....

Think my V6's idle at c 500 with AC on , bit lower when off. 4 pots certainly idle higher.

All the idle speeds mentioned should produce a smooth idle with no noticeable shaking of the engine. My 2.6l idles at exactly 500rpm, (A/C on or off), and there is a slight vibration to be felt but it's barely noticeable. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Suppose I'll have to check that my compressor is running properly, although climate control is working fine, as far as I'm aware. HTH.

if this vibration is not lost after the engine warm up completely
you have problem I think..
