On my 99 mini facelift 2.5 v6 elite, how do you know the engine number??

I've seen the X25XE mentioned. is this the correct no for the engine?

On a 99 2.5 V6 .. yes .. you have the x25XE TYPE of engine, but that is NOT the actual engine number :)

Check the actual engine number.  Start of same gives engine type....
