Title: 2.2 TDI CDX

I am close to buying a 2.2 cdx but i have been unable to find out if this engine ( Y22DTH i presume ) uses timing belts or chains,if belt's i will factor the replacement cost into the " haggling " over the car,this way i k now it has been done ( saw a 98,2.5tdi on ebay ,it supposedly has the receipts for cam belt replacement ,surely these had chains and not belts ?? )

Hi,

The 2.2DTi has a chain.
