We were told basically to keep our phones switched on just incase an agreement is reached

however I doubt they'll be in talks on sunday, so if they reach any agreement on monday am I gonna answer my phone at 3:30am?? I think not!!

looks like you wont get any mail til wednesday!

wednesday's my day off, so I've had a good long stretch of time to chill :y

I was hoping that it would be cancelled but it doesn't look like it will be for a while.  :-[

there's gonna be weekly strikes too, not sure of the dates yet, but either way, Danny losing money!

might start taking overtime, for the days i'm there, maybe 2 hours a day extra, should make up for the strike days where i'm not being paid!!

its a good job i have a small amount of cash put away for such eventuality

DHL arent on strike... worth looking for another job?? :D

thanks

regrettably when something goes wrong we're often all tarred with the same brush!!

later starts have been brought in, many are unhappy, some aren't bothered. i'm the latter, its only an hour difference, i'll still be home before 3pm, and i get to stay in bed another hour!

The postie's very popular in our house at the moment. GB Junior's violin turned up on Thursday morning, ready for her lesson on Thursday afternoon. The look on her face made it all worth while.  :) :)

Started on Thursday PM, so we got in just in time. Thank god, I don't think I could have stood the tears. And I threatened Will that I would post the pictures. He must have really pulled out the stops for us to get it here on time.

Thanks Will, respect to you.  :y

There's always the possibility that you just didn't have any letters that day.  :-?

there's always people who dont get mail one day, tuesdays are lightest!! so if you didnt get mail last thursday its simply because no one loves you ;D

the strike started thursday 12pm, so obviously posties started work at around 5 - 830 (whatever the contract start time is, mine being 7am) and we all still sorted and took our mail out, and obviously we work til we finish delivering what we have, even if beyond 12pm

i hadnt managed to get rid of all my leaflets last week cos i'd had heavy bags so i did the rest on friday morning, one of my managers drove past and saw me, so i'll get questioned when i go back in!

oh right

well basically he's gonna want to know why i was out delivering on a strike day i think, and we're not supposed to take leaflets home with us but i couldnt send them back as i doubt i could have gone to get them on the strike day to finish them off, so i left them in the car boot overnight and had a drive up to finish them off, i'll still get paid i'm sure, cos i filled in my leaflet sheet on the thursday to make sure, we're allowed to do that!

might get a tellin off for takin them home but at least i've delivered them and not binned them cos i'm sure some people bin them!!

I'm sure you are right. I have had some post go missing too - both some I was expecting (they are doing it for free this time but I had to pay for TNT), and some Ebay sales I have sold.

i've only ever had mail come late, car insurance documents, and one phone off ebay never arrived (recorded) but apart from that not too bad here, although our postman dropped a parcel in the middle of a side street belonging to my brother, its a good job the guy who found it was honest enough!

My Dad just chucks that stuff straight back into the post box ::) Do you get paid to sort it a second time?

if it's addressed mail, if you dont write on "return to sender" then it'll just end up back through your door, otherwise we just write it off, s'all part of the job
