Hello,
This is my first post! What an informative site this is! so glad I found it!
My problem is that my Elite V6 is suffering from an intermitant misfire!
I have searched the forum and found that it could be a number of things, plugs, leads DIS pack etc. although some days its better than others?
What I realy need is if anyone has used a reputable independant garage in the south wales area, as I dont want mt pants pulled down over the price!
would be gratful for any advice you guys may have!
Thanks
Ian.

Is it worse on gas? Do you only notice the miss under load?
I'm in Cardiff, and understand most things Omega, if I can help...
Have you checked for oil in plug wells?
-
if its on both then yes suggests its not fuel related, eg lack of gas.
Check the plugs, its dead easy to have a go yourself...

Don't forget Mark, that due to the higher calorific value of LPG, it's harder to ignite than petrol, hence requires a stronger spark.
So a mis on gas and not on petrol, could easily be ignition rather than fuel :)

Noted. What suprised me is project Elite runs so well on gas! :o
But since the problem here occurs on petrol as well, points to plugs/leads/DIS pack

Ok guys, looks like its more spark related then? but, back to the question of a good garage down my way? anyone know?????

Unfortunately I don't know.
But before you get fleeced, I would
A) Read the fault codes anyway (paperclip test)
B) Change the plugs and look at condition of old ones.
C) Check for oil in plug wells
D) Resistence check all the HT leads.
All easy stuff that you don't need to pay to do...

in answer to your question, yes its slightly worse on gas. and usually under load. and only when warm. from cold i can boot it until she warms up. I havent checked oil in wells etc. curiously though i get the "coolant level low" warning even though shes full? is that just the sensor?
Cheers!

Coolant warning is likely to be sensor and unrelated.
I personally would say start by checking the plugs... worse under load is nearly always HT related.. and if it is, you won't have a fault code stored.

Ashley's Autos MOT Centre (Bynea, LLanelli).
Tel: 01554-751-675.
9:00 'til 5:30 (Mon-Fri)
9:00 'til 1:00 (Sat).
Ask for Brett or "Wise old Steve" and tell them Gareth "M&P" told you to give them a call.
It's not too far into Turk Territory, so a Swansea Jack will be safe e'nuf...and you won't have to worry about getting yer pants pulled down over the price either !!! ;D

Hiya, welcome to the forum, nice to see another taffy, anyway back to your question.
James and Jenkins in Cardiff are spot on, very helpful and the mechanics know their stuff, i have had 3 cars from these including the wifes and daughters corsas, i highly recommend these to you, i use these all the time. They also treat your car as if it were their own.
Give them a try mate, let us know.
If you need any numbers etc give me a shout and i will send to you.
