Cheers :) So what does the HBV do then?
it controls the flow of water via a vac pipe, when you switch the heater on in the car the heater creates a vacumn this in turn opens the valve and allows water to flow into the heater matrix.
turn the heater off and the water flow is kept within the engine bay
hope that helps

So if your car doesnt heat up when you put the heating on then its probably the HBV??? Not ever had that problem but useful to know :)

Possibly, or it could be the vac pipe has dropped off....
most common fault with HBV is that they leak
