Title: Weird error code on 2.0

My Dad's 97 mini facelift 2.0 has started showing the EML light.
Doing the paperclip test with the engine running just left the EML permanantly on  :-?
With the engine not running, the light started flashing, but not as expected e.g. starting with code 12.  It did this
10 flashes, then 3 flashes, then 4 flashes, then 10 flashes
and then repeated the sequence :-?

Now that's just weird.  Any ideas?

0340       Camshaft sensor

get it changed or it will fail on you

Later 4 pots have a 4 code system and dont do the 12 three times

So 10 = 0.

Beige is the new grey

And according to my 2 year old 3 is the new 2

No wonder i'm confused.  Thanks for putting me right.
