Have you tried with all the other bolts removed pulling on the cover whilst trying to undo the last bolt, this method quite often works.
If this fails post up a pic so that we can get a better idea of which bolt and where.

Crank sensor is my only other guess. You got any codes stored in the ECU?

i got codes read a few weeks ago ,i posted them on but cant find them , would the crank sensor make it stall two with no accelertion ?

When the ECU cannot read engine rpm it automatically prevents the engine reving over 4500rpm to stop any possible engine damage the only thing that reads it is the crankshaft sensor if you disconnect the plug i bet it won`t be any different.
Alot of garages replace cam sensor because it usually brings up a fault code for it when the crankshaft sensor goes down. :y :y :y

so do you think I would have to get a new crankshaft sensor?

Did you fit a genuine Vx cam sensor?

Doesn't sound like the crank sensor to me on a 2.2

Sounds like an aftermarket one, Vx brought a replacement part for the cam sensor on a 2.2.

from cold the od time it will take a few seconds but  if it cuts out when warm it will start and die again when it does this it will take a few min's to get it going .

Its always a difficult one too guess with out havin the car there but you really need to disconnect the cranksensor plug and see if it makes a different but that cam sensor does sound abit suspect.
In general if one has gone down the other won`t be far behind so send that sensor back to LMF and get yourself down to a dealer and replace both sensors to garantee a fix
if the car was here i would be able to tell you which one but i think your abit too far away :y

Crank sensor doesn't seem to make a lot of difference on a 2.2, unlike the 6 pots.
