Hi can you please help me, both of my 2.5 v6 omega's manifold gaskets have gone. I took it my local garage who have quoted me £360 to fix it thats if none of the bolts shear. The guy said it would take aprox 5-6 hours a side. Is there a link or site that will show me how to.

This link here (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1187928695) is for heads removal on a V6. It entails removing the manifolds, obviously, so may be of some assistance.

That's not a bad price. It's a pretty grotty job. Main problem is access.
Drivers side has a huge coolant pipe in the way which is a bugger to remove.
Passenger side has no room so you have to shift the engine across (Vauxhall say the engine has to come out).
Make sure the new gaskets are laminated metal. Vx changed them to this because the originals fail.

defenitly a pig of a job (haynes manual says remove engine or head to get n/s one off) with time and patience you can get it off as JasonH said you have to shift the engine across good luck with it :y

Its not that bad a job, just a fair bit to remvoe on the drivers side.
Coolant pipe is easy enough to remove if you pop the bypass valve and associated pipes out first.

If anyone has a step by step guide to removing the manifolds i would be grateful.
Cheers Guys
