Title: Lazy climate fan
Post by: Bo Bo on 17 January 2008, 18:39:10
Over the last couple of months my climate fan has become intermittent.
Most days it's OK but occasionaly it can take a minute or two to start up.
It's been getting a bit more regular lately & today on my way home from work all I got was a couple of short blasts....

Well it took a couple of minutes to start up again this morning but was OK for the rest of the day, any ideas?

Hi,
I had similar problem with Renault Safrane, I gave it a squirt of WD 40
It was still working OK when I sold it 5 years later.

Is that the blower or the sampling fan?

Hi
For my comment on WD 40 I assumed it was air sample fan.

I doubt if WD 40 will do much for the main blower fan. If it's that not running properly I would suspect motor brushes.

cabin blower wont start on Fully Automatic until coolant temp rises.  Does blower come on straight away if you set in to windscreen demist?

Tried this & it does work (mostly) however the fan still cuts out occasionally.

Have you had the climate control panel out, I had the same problem on the Silver Elite I had, turns out I had not pushed the yellow plug to the rear left of the panel home fully.

I haven't but the radio definately has been because it doesn't sit properly, the cage was badly bent & I bodged fixed that. There's a couple of bulbs need replacing so might as well do the lot at the same time..... (eventually!)
