The old battery went as dead as a dodo so swapped out, everyhing seemed to be fine until I noticed that my remote seems to have stopped working.
It was working fine before, and I've checked it over and the circuit seems to be fine, the alarm turns off when I start the ignition.
Any ideas as at the moment everytime i get in my car it looks like I'm nicking it ;D

search the forum it is explained in detail :y

It probably just needs to be re-synced. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to on until all your dash lights come on (dont start the car). Then just press a button on the fob and you should here the locks working.

Ah sorry, forgot to mention, have tried re-syncing and when pressing the button nothing happens

Is the Red light working on the Key Fob when you press either of the buttons?
I put some tissue on top of my battery so when i closed it again the tissue was pushing the battery onto it connects better. had no problem since then, maybe worth a try...

I have one of the new style that don't have a light,
the battery and circuit has been checked with a multimeter and it all seems fine, would anything in the car's alarm systems been damaged or affected when I swapped the battery over?

So lets get this right, your key was working the centre locking and alarm, then the battery went flat so you changed the battery for a new one. You then synchronized the key in the ignition?
Is that right?
Did you synchronize it like this?
I am looking at the handbook now, it says the battery must be changed within 3 minutes, otherwise the remote will need synchronizing.
Switch on the ignition: system will then remain in synchronizing mode for 30 seconds.
Briefly press any button on the remote control unit the unit is in the ignition.
The central locking system locks and unlocks to show that the remote control has been synchronized.
If this fails I would think that you need to have your key Tech 2'd....
Also if you buy keys off ebay make sure you get the correct one, I bought one as it looked the same, but at the bottom of the keyfob it had a different name.... so wasn't compatible.

Sorry it was the Car battery I changed not the fob battery, when the fob battery was changed previously,I re-synced it and it was working fine, the problems have only popped up once Ive changed the car's battery.

You will probably have to try the reync as described above....and make sure your fob battery is ok first..
