Title: Slight grinding when turning corner
Post by: dino on 23 January 2008, 15:13:09
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows what could cause a slight grinding noise when i turn a corner.  It is intermitant.  I have had new pads and discs at the front, the rear pads are fine but the rear discs have a small amount of surface corrosion on them around the edge.  I've had the tracking and balancing done aswell.

Many Thanks

i get this from time to time, we have narrowed it down to disks touching pads.

mine does it when cornering hard, we thing the bearing has a small amount of movement and so it causes this to happen.

had the car on the ramps and nothing seems to be amiss and there is a tiny bit of freeplay, this is the only thing we can presume

My 2.0l estate suffers this on braking when turning left, even gently. Still haven't sussed it out, but it doesn't seem to cause any serious problems. Damned annoying though!
I don't think it's the mud flaps, so will have to investigate discs, bearings, suspension struts, etc.
