Hi all, realizing that my harsh jittery ride is being caused by the awful budget tyres fitted by the previous owner (enduro runways) I have decided to replace them with some decent boots. The car is presently fitted with 225/55/16 on the 7 spoke poverty alloys (car is 2.2 gls). Does anyone know if these are the correct size as my local tyre guy reckons they should be 205/55/16. Any reccomendations for a nice quiet riding tyre would be appreciated too, I always ran my previous Omegas on BF Goodridge rubber but nobody around here seems to stock them. Thanks.

? The owner's manual for my pre face lift car doesn't mention tyres of this size at all. All 16" rims come with 225 according to my book.

My 2.6l CDX estate has 225/55/16's but the spare is 205/55/16 on the usual steel wheel.
IIRC a 225 won't fit fully into the spare wheel well.

You sure your spare is a 16"? Mine's a 15" (Oooer! ::))

Oops! You're right of course, Big Boy! :o Spare is 15". No wonder the alloys won't fit in the well. ;)
