Hi guys, just wondered what kind of MPG you all get from your 3.0's, more importantly the manual ones? No point going bby book figures as they do not reflect the real world, just wondered if you guys could let me know what you get from what style of driving?
cheers

my 3.0 estate manual -
Driving nicely, (but not like a granny) on a run, would easily see 33mpg
Hoofing it, I would see about 24mpg.
On an auto, these drop to about 27-29mpg and 21mpg respectively.

i get 23mpg around town and about 38 on motorway run, i calculated it manually yesterday& checked with the computers average, 1mpg out! not bad!
thats a 3.0 auto elite saloon though
, and i do have a heavy right boot every now and then!
with my boot being heavy most the time, goes down to 8-10 mpg

Ive just got 3.0 elite auto. On a 220 mile trip home (90% motorway at about 65-75mph all the way) my average was 35.6 mpg. That included a few little blasts every now and then.
However, driving from one side of York to the other at 9:00 in the morning i see 15-16mpg >:(

MV6 Estate Manual - on runs out outside London 30 to 34 MPG. In London's traffic 25 to 30 MPG.
Did a test over the last 3 months using the Trip Milege and Gals used and it averaged 27.5 (mainly in Town). Not had a chance to comfirm with the Petrol reciepts and actual Speedo miles, but wouldn't have thought it will be that much different.
Real heavy foot foot over a weekend 23 MPG, best its everdone was when I had some time to kill on a Motorway once, cruised it at 55 MPH for the journey (about 70 miles) and got 42 MPG, but soon got bored with that, so that was a one off.
What I love about these 3.0 Manuals is once you get 30 MPH, 5th gear no problems assuming your in one of those slow moods.

Unless your doing motorway miles I don't think yours is much different than mine... I am getting 21.9 now while I am doing school runs and just bobbin about..

3.0 Auto estate here, average about 22-23 day to day
if i am very careful on a run, 30 is acheivable
I am heavy footed ::)
-
25-26 average over the last 6 months or so. Fair bit of motorway driving, but it gets a bit of stick elsewhere.
-
I have a 3.2 and on a good run at 65 will get 32-34 and around town 27 about. This is with a light right foot. The best i have had was 44mpg BUT soon when down when i hit the town.
Hope that helps.

I get 31-33 mpg on a long run (motorway/ clear "A" road),
But - in Stockport, crawling to work I get about 17-19.
Then again, the traffic is nothing short of bleeding awful.

my boss as an x reg 1.8 zafira, he is always moaning about how crap on mpg it is, i thought it would be good! why so bad? just size and weight? i was shocked!

Iv got a 2.5 DT and that averages about 33 to 36mpg. If I put my foot down it goes down to 7mpg, if I am driving around town it will do 23 to 26mpg. RUBISH! I though diesels are good on fuel?

its a pig around town, around 24mpg >:( >:( >:(. sometimes i drive it to work and i get a respectful 40 mpg at 60mph with the cruise on and a/c off. it has a combined 30ish mpg. but she loves the damn thing.
i hear the 1.6 is worse though.........................
-
ah yeah now you mention it i think it may be the 1.6 - i'd much rather stick to the beasty miggy!

Virtually all petrols can go down to 7.1mpg when booting hard ;) (Looks like computer won't read below 7.1).

I use to have a Ford Ultima Cosworth nearly 3 litres of V6, and pure mussel (no Turbo), if you switched off the overdrive, put the thing in sport mode and hit the load pedal from a standing start the computer will tell you its doing 1.5 MPG, really not cheap, lovely noise though!

My 3.0 Manual Estate has 24.8 mpg on it at the moment but I haven't reset that since I bought it back in September. I've done a fair smattering of both motorway and urban so I guess that's no too bad. I do have a couple of questions though. Firstly, when if I'm about to do a long motorway journey should I reset the Av MPG first as at the moment it really drags to get above 25mpg. And secondly, whilst having a bit of fun the other day in the wet with the traction control off, I realised that the car is a whole different animal! I drove the car as normal but it was all over the place ;D Now I was wondering if by having the Traction Control on it pushes your mpg up by putting such a drag on the engine with the ABS brakes etc. What do you think?
Humpy
PS I might leave the Trction Control off more often, it's much more fun!!!
-
The only time traction control does anything is when it detects one of the driven wheels slipping so I very much doubt it affects fuel consumption.
Does spoil the fun though.
