Title: Cambelt tensioner positions
Post by: JasonH on 25 January 2008, 21:04:05
I've changed the cambelt on my car before (and yes I have a locking tool) but last time I initially set the idlers by just taking up the belt slack.

In theory, on my car (facelift 2.5), I need to set the the bottom roller to the 1 O'clock position and the top roller to the 9 O'clock position as a starting point.

Now am I barking mad or are there 6 points on the 30mm adjusters so which one is the big hand? Anyone got a picture?

I suspect A is the big hand but I wouldn't bet my engine on it  ::)
