My MIG idles slower on petrol than on LPG and seems lumpy, and only since i replaced the cam cover gasket and cleaned plugs and dis pack. I've re-checked everything and i dont seem to have missed anything. I stripped off the top of the throttle body and cleaned the butterfly valve and everything around it, re-checked all hoses are clear ok. Since cleaning the butterfly valve, it goes like a bomb on acceleration but still idles lumpy on petrol only.
Any ideas where to look next please???

dirty fuel filter, dirty injectors :question

if you forget about LPG ( as it complicates ) the question what makes the idle lumpy ( I also had that problem now solved)
sparks
air filter
dirty throttle
old O-rings under plenum
dirty or bad IAC
EGR
lambda sensors
MAF
leaking valves
dirty-leaking injectors

Have you cleaned the metal nozzle that the smaller rubber hose coming of the cam cover attaches to? That is critical and often (= always) gets blocked.
Also your idle control valve may need a good clean/lube, but I would start with the nozzle.

Spot on sir.... that did the trick
I have had the butterfly assembly out twice today now and given it a good clean.
One question remains. When i undid the three allen screws and removed the top half of the throttle assembly, on the underside was a load of black rubbery goo, like gasket sealant, was that supposed to be there or should it be a clean metal to metal seal???

no there should be a paper gasket between them VX its about 1.50 odd

Are we talking about the same bit, the circular metal bit that is held to the main body of the throttle by three allen screws?
I saw a gasket under the main body, after removing the four torx bolts and that was okay.
