Title: Horn push failure
Post by: less on 28 January 2008, 18:38:59
Evening all. Just getting ready for the mot and i've noticed the right hand horn push doesn't work (can't even feel it behind the steering wheel push). The left hand push still works.
I imagine the push switch has moved or broken but I am a bit nervous mucking about with the airbag.  :-?  This is a 4 spoke wheel on a 02 facelift. Has anybody removed this? Is it just the 2 x screws on the back of the wheel? Does the battery need to come off?

Any advice would be much appreciated

oops! forgot the subject :-[

Disconnect the battery

Then remove the 2 bolts (hex type inserts) and the airbag lifts off revealing the horn push switches etc.

As said disconnect battery and then have a well earned cup of tea, then come back out and carry on :D

Guys, thanks for the advice - I feel happy to attack it now without the fear of a mouthful of airbag!  :y
