Release bearing?  Whatever, probably needs dismantling to investigate :(

Cheers Mate i would expect it to be the other way round if it was the release bearings though :scratchchin;
There is no noise until i dip the clutch most strange imho

The release bearing only has load on it when you press the pedal so likely it would be quiet when the clutch pedal pressure is released.

Could also be a spigot bearing, if it has one. Either way, it's gearbox out to investigate. >:(

Thanks for the reply Kev if i thought it was a 80 to 20 chance it was the release bearing i would change the clutch and all since i have not had to do this in the five years and 60k i have put on the car.
Would you know what would happen if the bearing failed completely could it cause any further damage? I'm just thinking do i just live with it a while longer or grab the bull by the horns :scratchchin:
