Hi All,
Have now had car long enough to get some idea of fuel consumption on my motor.
Mixture of motorway and urban for last 1000 miles is returning about 22 mpg
Is this about average ?

Check this out. Yours certainly seems typical of 3.0 and 3.2 Omegas.

Uhmm....., not sure about that one, Auto or Manual??, I have 3.0 MV6 Manual Estate faceLift thats Superchipped, gives about 27 MPG average, 34 on a run, and even with a heavy right foot at weekends never goes below average of 22 MPG!

Have a look on the spread sheet. Click on the tab called General Data and you will see ten 3.0l and 3.2l members' MPG data. The range is 17mpg to 26mpg. If you ignore the lowest and highest, the average is about 23mpg. :y
In fact, the average mileage shown by our contributors across all variants is 26.2mpg. This does include some 35mpg+ diesels at one end though so you might want to discount those. :y

22mpg overall would seem to be about right for an auto 3.2 although in continuous stop/start town driving can drop to 19-20.
My day to day average is about the same but goes up to around 25-26 on long motorway journey at around 75-85mph......ooops, I mean 70mph!! ::)

Thanks for the replies folks. I didn't think it was far out.

Mine on a motorway run at 65-70 is 32 mpg and around town can drop to 26 mpg. I try to keep a light right foot most of the time.

I went up to Manchester (110 Miles) in the early hours of the morning this week and had the cruise set to 70 all the way and got 39MPG.... Came back in the rush hour and was at 31MPG.
My normal daily commute gives about 22MPG, stopping / starting and dealing with hills kills the fuel consumption on the 3.2 but hey.... what a lovely V6 soundtrack! Besides, I wouldn't buy any Omega for good fuel economy.... they are big heavy barges....
