Hi Folks,
Having done a search and looked in FAQ with nix results, could anyone help?
I drive a Perfacelift Estate which I've dropped 20mm.
I'm on the pre face lift Irmscher 17" MV6 Wheels with 235/45/17 tyres.
How big a rim/tyre combination can i go to without having to worry about arch modification?
Anyone advise?
Cheers
Matthew

IMHO i would stick to the 17's otherwise you will get tramp steer and wear out the steering joints etc.. alot quicker.

Total Vauxhall Magazine had a feature on pre-facelift 3.0 Elite a couple of years back. Lowered by 40mm with 18" Mille Miglia wheels. It looked awsome. The owner had been toying with fitting 19's as he would not have to modify the arches. He went for the 18's as a local dealer had them in stock and gave him a price he couldn't refuse.

Personally after lowering I stuck with 18's, bought a set from madhouse tyres albany road, just off the old kent road, mistake I made was not getting the geometry done, and that cost me in tyre wear. There is someone who has went up to 20's on their mig, don't recall if they actually lowered aswell though. Personally the 18's are fine and you also have to watch out for the speed diferrence when you change from the standard spec tyres check this site out: you can input the size of existing tyres and input the size of the new ones, wil then tell you the speedo diferrence, think the UK can't be out more than 2.5%.

if and when you do change get the geometry done aswell, there is a bloke in Brockley that does it, unless you fancy a trip to WIM :y
Hope this helps :y
