Title: v6 auto box cooling

hi there. was planning on doing a bit of towing this summer, but a family friend has just told me that i will have to fit a auto box cooler. what is this, is it expensive to fit and do i really need one to tow my caravan. please help.

You do not need to worry as a cooler for the auto box is already present.  It is, I think, combined with the radiator, although others will be able to confirm this I am sure.

Been towing for the last 6 years with a 2.5 Omega .. no additional cooling and it tows like a dream.  Taken it to France every year as well as 30 odd UK trips a year. There is absolutely NO problem towing with an Omega V6  :)

Auto cooler already fitted, atf cooled cold side of rad.

Only thing to add is that if you are slogging uphill with a heavy van on the one hot day in the year with a/c on max then you might see the engine temp near the red, if so just turn off a/c till you clear the hill and temp will drop back to normal.

thanks to all. really put my mind at ease. was expecting an expensive trip to the garage.
