hi, many thanks for alladvice, commments etc, about towing with my 2.6 auto. I had a small problem driving home, about 7 miles from home developed a puncture, and could not change wheel as I could not loosen the security nut on the wheel, and to help matters the special socket to take this out appears not to match, I managed to get home ,my son brought my inflater out to me. Are these special bolts a good thing or a hindrence, your comments would be appricated,

Your local Machine Mart will do Bolt grip sets. These reverse spiral nut removers are excellent for removing security wheel nuts. I saw my local tyre depot using some on a costomers car & they worked very well.
Well worth the £23.48.
You could try them if all else fails :y

I agree with Waspy... they are excellent

Vauxhall lock bolts are a pain. There are pretty naff.
Hence, mine are in the garage, and normal bolts back in.

The real problem with locking wheel nuts is, when you go to a fastfit tyre center, they use an air gun to remove your wheel nuts including the locking ones, which is a real NO NO >:( >:(, they should be removed by hand, but that's more time and time is money to them. Check out http://www.machinemart.co.uk/ for a set of "Locking Wheel Nut" Removal sockets, they will remove any locking wheel nuts with no prob's ;)
