Hi, Hope some1 out there can help with this wierd fault.
I have a 02 2.6 MV6 auto that has developed a wierd fault with the central locking. the central locking lock when the interior/door light switch is operated on the drivers side! I have replaced switch but this made no difference, if i disconnect the switch then the fault dissapears but i have no interior light/door light. HELP :(

It may be further back in the loom - have you access to a multi meter to see whether you may have an earth fault

Yes I have access to a multimeter.

Since the removal of the switch shows the symptoms you maybe able to see whether the signals coming to the switch are received when the central locking is activated. Trace back from there. Sorry for being so vague. HTH

The weird faults keep coming :(, the latest installment is the interior roof light stays on permenantly when car is locked, using the manual switch on the headlight switch has no effect. unlock the car and it goes off after its usual time delay. That night there was a hard frost and when i checked it the following morning interior light was working again as normal and the problem with central locking and door switch had gone.
Today its back to the central locking being activated when the drivers door is opened wide enough to activate the switch on the A post for the interior light and pavement light on door . :'(
If I enter through any other door central locking is OK, and as previously mentioned if the switch on drivers door A post is disconnected the central locking is OK. HELP

;) Finally got to the route of the wierd problems, the rubber gaitor carrying the wiring loom from the A post the the drivers door had detached from the locking nut on the multi pin connector, the plug was full of water (not helped by me using a power washer) , dried it out,quick spray of WD and packed with grease, good as new.
Looking at fitting S/S system from Cats back, can any1 suggest a quality exhaust but not noisy and no larger than life tail pipe.

They make your exhaust to fit, with choice of tailpipes, and choice of it sounding sporty or standard.... :y
