Title: Sunroof with a mind of its own
Post by: IanM on 03 February 2008, 17:50:26
My sunroof has started to open, tilt position 1, and then close all on its own! Seems to happen on bumpy roads. Switch works normally when tried and all positions select correctly. Any ideas please?

OK, done the reset, but now noticed the light isn't working. Any possible link to sunroof opening and closing on its own? It wasn't dark when it started happening so don't know if bulb failed at the same time. It was working yesterday. How do you get at the bulb?

On sunroofs with changable bulb, remove switch, then light guide, then bulb pulls out.

On sunroofs without changable bulb, the official methos is replace motor assembly!!!  Obviously, you'd solder a new one in.

The bulb has no effect on operation.

Reset has fixed opening/closing problem. Thanks for the tip. Should have Please read the manual! Luckily I have a replaceable bulb, unluckily Vauxhall dealer doesn't and his part locater can't find any either. Can't find anything listed on Maplin or RS or any other sites. It's 12v 1.4 w. Anyone know a source for these?

Fitted a new bulb 12 months ago, BT43W from Maplins 0.59p each, splashed out and got two. Not sure if the info is current and/or its the same fitting. (my car 2.5 petrol, '98, Elite).
