Title: Need help with the mid
Post by: Phelan65 on 04 February 2008, 22:27:53
Hi guys and ladies, well I have my car in getting the heads done and will be doing the cam and water pump while it is in bits  :( but I noticed my mid has lost a pixel or two  but what I really what to know is how to reset things like the date and time etc plus what fuctions it acutally has besides instant fuel/distance and the warning messages.

As I cannot get into the glovebox, broken off latch, and it is a japanese import I think any "book" I will find in there will be in japanese. What sort of book would you recommend to try and find on fleabay?

Early MIDs often fail.  Pig to repair, so solution is a good one from scrapper WITH SAME CONFIG (engine/gearbox)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLUE-LED-MID-TID-CLOCK-DISPLAY-Vectra-B-Omega-B-P-P_W0QQitemZ200196246100QQihZ010QQcategoryZ72237QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Would this be an option??

I dont think there is a local wrecker who would have an omega lurking in their yard but I could be wrong....still need help with a workshop manual

Hi

The ebay thing is just a set of bulbs so this wont fix your pixel problem. Looks like you need a full new display unit as theae bulbs will just change the colour and not fix your problem.

So back to the main question, once the head work has been done and the battery is connected again, how do I reset the MID so it shows the correct time etc? is it hold both buttons down as I turn the key?? Hold one in for x? seconds?

Have a play with the two buttons above display. Can't remember exact sequence, but failry simple.  Mine, being the later MID, gets time from radio, so not something I ever do...
