May need a bit more info regarding the refusal to drive forwards. I take it you've put it in gear?  ;)

Have you checked the fuses for the headlights?

No, floods i know about, it wont engage any forward gears. On the the headlight thing when i got it there were no headlight bulbs fitted so i fitted 2 new ones, the only blown fuse was 27a 20amp in the engine box. all advice greaty appreciated.

When you say it wont engage any gears, will the gear lever move, if not put your foot on the brake and you should hear a click from the lever area.

You say it won't drive forwards. Does this mean that it will go backwards then?

You never know, it may help to point someone to the right area?  :-/

Check the transmission fluid level first, needs to be done hot with engine running.

Yes they do, but only for normal driving lights. The high beam is still conventional bulb. But even so, from memory it is H7, not H1...?
