They shouldn't be twisted together like that at all!
-
I am aircraft mechanic and boys tell me if i am wrong but....
wire cables should NEVER be wrapped round each other like that. it causes fiction, heat and wear which is not good.
You should be able to unwind them by disconnecting the throttle cable.
As i said i might be wrong but in my job its a big no no.

Correct
Worse still is the fact that the pivot point has now been moved much closer to the cable sleeve which will result in more effort being requried by the cruise and the accelerator in order to get the required throttle opening.

yeah as soon as i see i thought was wrong so im pop it down today and get them to sort it... but i was thinking why would you do that..

What size engine is it?
If its 3.0 and given that your car looks like a minifacelift (approx 98 onwards) it might be because it could now have the wrong plenum fitted!
Not an issue if its a 2.5

is this easy enough for me tomove these bits with lack of hsssle

Yes, if you look at the throttle cable, there is a little clip that needs unclipping and pulling out of the cable end ball joint.
Pop the ball joint of the throttle, un-wind the cable and re-fit.
You might then need to remove the slack from the throttle cable, do this by removing the clip where the throttle cable attaches to the bracket in the picture, pull it back through the bracket until there is only a small amount of play in the cable and then re-fit the clip.

Make sure that when they unwind the throttle cable they retension it as there may be some slack from it being in this position.
opps i type to slow hes already mentioned it. just
