Title: best place to get.......

a servicing kit ad the cat section of my exhuast.

as we are looking at doing this on sat after we have finished the gearbox.......James told me off for even thinking about sending it to a garage to do the service and  exhaust.

(i ow this boy bigg. lots of beer going his way on sat night!! )

Whats wrong with the cat section of the exhaust, if its the flexi joint then fit a new flexi joint as pattern cats are not great and much noisier.

As for service items, Vx with a trade card is the answer (think James has a trade card)

its rattles bad from inside the actual cat. been underneath the car and there is nothing loose its deffinatly inside the cat

I have always found that Auovaux service kits are good value, having said this I bought my last one off ebay very cheap and it was a genuine Vx set.

I would agreee that the Vx exhausts are best with a trade card but although the cat rattles has it failed the MOT emissions test, if not I would be tempted to live with the rattle.

It could just be the heat shield.....worth checking.

yeh thats what i was thinking but on closer inspection thats not the case.

as for mot immsions test have not put it through a mot yet one cos its not due to next month and two with the gearbox being the way it was it wouldnt pass anyway.

FYI, don't know how this stacks up but:

Air Filters £8.85
Oil Filter £1.22
Fuel Filter £5.75
Pollen Filter £5.32
Spark Plugs £7.92 (SET of Four)

Parts total £29.06
Postage £7.00
VAT £6.31
TOTAL £42.37

i dont know how it stacked up but the bill was £56.72
this included the oil for oil change and antifreeze i needed for cambelt change....oh and the rear wiperblade. All from autovaux.

there service is great i ordered my cambelt and bits from them at 4pm yesterday and they were here this am.

Just one question what grade oil does the car needi cant remember is it 10W or 15 w ??? just want to make sure i got the right stuff!

The vauxhall semi is 10w40 but pretty much any decent 40 or 30 viscosity oil should be OK.
