do NOT buy pattern. Its false economy, they do not last long.

They are also very noisey and kill the refinment of the car, get a GM exhaust!

I have driven meggas with pattern zorsts, they sound awful.

when i bought the 2.2 it had the orginal gm zorst, lasted 6 years and 95k, my dads is the same, still going at 92k and 7 years!

Pattern on average last about 2.

The trick is GM ones are double walled, makes them last longer and much less noise.

Cat back for GM, on TC looking at £200.

Its about £70 odd for each mid section, and £60 odd for a back box i think  :y

I have an aftermarket cat on my 2.2, it was bought online. It's horrible, noisy, sounds like it's blowing but it isn't, the tin is very thin! My advice is get a genuine GM or a good secondhand one, I only changed mine because the flexy had gone, should have repaired it  ::)

Join ABS (AutobahnStomers)

Their membership card gets you trade prices at Vx, it costs £20 to join but you will recover that straight away with the exhaust, £200 trade, its easily £350+ retail, seen stealers advertise £420

Member AndyC is offering TC prices to non-TC holders on the forum.

I have recently dealt with him very satisfactorily; knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and fast ...

Give him a bell, what do you have to lose ?

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=andyc

(I'll take my commission in beer please andy !!!)  :)

I have a TC but my local stealers said what I wanted didn't exist, despite a part number from EPC. Andy confirmed it existed, was the right part for my VIN, and got it from germany within a week.

Thats the one, technically its for 6pots only, but they let you join  :)

I bought my whole zorst from a Vx stealer, got some strange looks, walking though the show room 3 times with 3 massive chunks of exhaust!  ;D

Hi,
Just a word about the ABS card.

I have found that not all VX dealers accept the ABS card.

Aparently either the dealer or ABS have to register, not sure which, and unless there are a few ABS card holders using the dealer they don't reckon worth registering.

I don't have a problem. When I show my ABS card, the dealer I use just makes the receipt out to some other TC club.

They have to accept it ABS have Trade Status, its down to the dealer to register the card, but thats their problem.

LMAO  ;D it is hard going from doing relitively nothing to doing loads.

yep it is. The cat is part of the first section of the exhuast ( between the manifold and mid section.!!!!!

got one on its way.......BEFORE you ask fellas its a VX one Andy C sorted me out today (thanks Andy) and to all the advice from everyone else.

If the cat is the only problem I'd put up with it until it starts failing MOTs. Had a rattly one on my last car but it sailed through about 4 MOTs like it.

Not sure how much a genuine VX cat would be. Probably something you'd be best off discovering in a seated position. :-/

Other option is to look out for a 2nd hand one.

Sounds like a good result then :y If the previous one was non genuine it should be a bit more refined with the new one on it.
