Guys, i have just been reading the how to on Cleaning the IACV in the Maintenance Guide.

Is it actually possible to dissasemble the valve completely for cleaning as the exploded view shows and have it go back together again ok, or is that it once you open it up like that.
If so does the End Cap screw off or hammer off :-? ??

You can split it into two parts for sure. I would do that and give the mechanical bit an overnight soak in carb cleaner.

As the exploder of that (pictured) IACV, I would say it is possible to disassemble and re-assemble, but you'd want to be able to replace the o-ring on the plastic inner end-cap (that screws out). The metal outer cap is crimped into position and takes a bit of removing.
I would think that thorough soaking/cleaning with carb cleaner will do as much as anything else. I just opened that one up to see 'what was what' inside the thing. I'm curious like that. It was clean as a whistle from my carb-cleaning efforts before opening it up. There was however evidence of asymmetric wear on the hidden valve/seat, and air leakage from the cap end, so I didn't bother trying to ressurect it.

Thanks guys ;), i think i will leave it as is, knowing my luck I probably won't be able to get the end cap back on and won't be able to get just the "o ring".
