cleaned the throttle body on Saturday at shifnal but the revs are still sticking at 1500 and above when stationery in traffic, when I depress the clutch and slight pressure on the accelarator it will go to normal, seems to be revving higher now sometimes more than before, did I miss something when cleaning the throttle body?, or is there potentially something else?

Any fault codes present? Could be the DBW going into limp-home?

I have the same problem with mine at the moment but only when the car is running on lpg. It sticks at exactly 1500rpm until as you say you depress the clutch and it will go back to normal idle. Find it strange that this only happens on mine when running on lpg and I have no fault codes logged and car seems to drive with the same response as it did before this occured.
I'd love to know the outcome of this.

I thought limp home only occured on automatic's, mine is manual :y

All fuel injected cars have a (engine) limp home.

If the ECU detects a discrepancy between the throttle pedal position sensors, the throttle plate position sensors or is otherwise unable to control the throttle there is a fail safe where it gives you a constant fast idle to get you home. Could be something intermittent in the system although I would have thought it'd light the EML straight away. Is the connector on the throttle body motor fully home and clean?
I also wonder why it clears when you press the clutch? Not a switch on the clutch pedal, is there? Maybe that's faulty.

To be honest i really don't know hence why I am asking, as I was thinking maybe something to do with the clutch pedal, so is there a switch on the clutch pedal then that could cause this given that it is intermittent, and if it is this what needs done?

There is a switch on clutch pedal, as it has cruise. Not sure the clutch switch is the problem here though....
