The offical Vx labour time is 1.2 hours.....and thats generous for anybody who has done it before.

it's easy to say 'its not that difficult' when you have done one,  but if you follow a methodical approach then you stand a good chance of getting it right and saving the money   :y

i am sure there is a 'how to' on it in the guides somewhere

Edit here you go.....

just make sure you have a big box of plasters afterwards  ;D

what makes working on the Omega difficult at times is access, if you can change plug leads on a normal cars then this isn't dissimilar, just a bit more time consuming.

the Dispack is right at the back of the engine, access isn't brill, first time i did a dispack i took 2.5 hours and the swearing could be heard a street away  ;D

speaking from experience, i'd rather just pay someone to do it, cos the tent peg won in my case ;D

Fair comment, BUT, £50 fitting is about right...  £40 for cash!  Wish I lived a little closer and had the time to do it.  Could use £40... :)

Go on mate have a go, loads of help on here if you get stuck..

GO FOR IT :y

Its as said pretty straight forward...removing wipers and scuttle is just for easier access...really just removing a connector and 4 bolts if it werent for the space and accessibility issues...go for it yourself...as said £50 should be more like the price, I would do it for that but then it would be £50 in fuel on top to get there and back lol

I did it at the same time as my rocker cover gaskets were done & changed the leads as well. made access a lot easier.
Just be aware the 246 bank of leads are arse from elbow on the dis pack.... trust me iknow :-[
