hi all i have a noisey pump thing mounted below my nsf headlamp behind the bumper.
my question is this..
1 what is it?
2 what does it do?
3 what would happen if i just unplugged it?
if it helps it only rins for the first 30 seconds or so when i start the car.
thanks in advance rob

Its the seconady air injection, fitted to assist in a clean qquick cats warm up cycle to reduce emmissions etc...
No harm in simply unplugging it, lots of them have been disconnected.... :y

just what i wanted to hear
thanks bud

Or if you want a non noisy one...I can send you one cheap :)
-
...but if it was me i would leave it connected - it should only be a noise occassionally when cats are cold and not impact anything else.
-
the only reason I disconnected mine was to confirm that was what was squealing for 30 seconds after starting from cold (and not something more critical). Otherwise I would leave it connected.
-
It may not be that important but it is there for a reason, so why not just get urself a cheap replacement and have a non noisy one
-
It is there to get the cats up to temperature faster but Vx themselves dropped it for the 2.6 V6.
I preferred to replace mine, but rather than unplug it you could remove it, it's a big lump and you'd be lugging around dead weight.

having removed my cats it can be binned then!!
