Title: What is it?
Post by: bigphil1 on 04 March 2008, 09:27:14
Hi all, does anyone know what the small dome shaped thing is at the base of the windscreen in the middle.  Is it to do with the alarm?

I do believe it is the receiver for the alarm. It used to be up by the interior light on the early models

I'm pretty sure a sensor for the climate control wouldn't be so near the windscreen, what with direct sunlight and all. But, as you say, you never know.

Ahh, but it's called a "sun sensor" :y

It's there to detect if one or both sides of the car have direct sunlight on them and it adjusts the air distribution to compensate.
