Title: timing belt miles

Hi everyone,

Just been looking at the autodata cd i had from a friend and it says that the timing belt and tensioners has to be changed every 80,000 miles,

Is this correct cos i dont want to kill my engine??

I have met someone else that said this Autodata CD says you don't need to change your Tensioners just the Belt :o

And as loo-knee says, cambelt AND tensioners/idlers.

Wow, Thanks for the quick replys guys,

I have a recipt for belt and tensioners changed on 10/6/05 at 77,000 miles and is now on 98,000   So got loads left then

Just over a year, or 19k, whichever soonest :)

Thanks for the info,, Always good to get an expert on the problem,   Lets hope nobody takes the autodata cd as gospel  :'(

While im in the mood for asking questions,  Whats the average price for the exhast system for the 2.5 meega?

I am sure I have read it on here that Vauxhalls exhaust are good exhausts and not badly priced either, can't remember the actual price though :y

about £250 trade, £350 retail.  Try andyc (member here) who can help further with VX parts

Around £220 - £230 + VAT on tradeclub
