Today i noticed that the coolant level sender plug has a split pin in it & isn't attached to the exspansion bottle.
On removing the split pin & plugging the plug back in the display still said low coolant level. The coolant level is fine. So is this likely to be the sender in the exspansion bottle or maybe sumat else :question
Thanks. Pete

When you had the split pin in, shorting out the two terminals what did your display show? Low coolant or was it OK?
If OK then that was the reasson for the split pin being there - to get rid of the message. A shiney new bottle is the only real effective way to go - £25/30 IIRC . :y

With the split pin in place the display was normal, so i guess it's a new bottle. I guess the sender unit in the bottle can't be replaced alone without buying a complete unit

Ive just paid £40 for a new bottle and cap :y

I used caustic in my bottle to clean it. It worked for a while but I ended up buying a new one in the end.

My display was showing coolant level. Had a new bottle 2 weeks ago, done under warranty :y
