Are any omega's prewired for the self dipping rear view or more to the point will my mv6 have the wiring there.
If not is it much of a job to wire it up.
Cheers

I doubt they will be pre wired unless they had them in, but not 100% sure...I have one here if you need one...

I have the mirror, I was just wondering how much of a job it is to fit it.
-
I will ask my vauxhall chap for you but the mirror is tied in with the seats and the MV6 came with part manual seats.

Mine didn't have the existing loom and was a piece of cake to install - if you follow Hilpers guide in the Maintenance section it holds your hand all the way through. I'm well pleased with the addidtion. :y

Just wired one in my Elite as whilst the model should have an autodipping mirror as standard mine did not as it was factory fitted with recaro leather,so my advise is to remove the interior light and have a look for a oblong black plug with nothing connected to it.If you have it you are pre wired if not you will be better getting a partial section of the wiring loom with the opposite side of the plug fitted.
Once you have it you may find the wiring colours differ as mine did,so it is wise to lokk inside the mirror by removing the back casing.
You will need to take 3 connections from the interior light:
Ignition 12 + volt
Earth 0 volt
12 volt + to stop mirror dipping with the interior light being put on
Wire from reverse in passenger kick panel to stop dipping when in reverse.
Quite straight forward once you have found the correct colour wires.
Actual mirror does appear very slightly green under daytime use but at night dims very qiockly when it is struck by lights from behind.
My only minor criticism of the mirror is it doesn,t seem to be a clear as the original, but expect it is due partly to the green colour and the slightly wider frame casing, but it is quite a good accessory and worth the small amount of wiring required..it took me about 1 hour to do the fit ,but if you read through previous threads you will see I asked lots of questions prior to fitting it...best of luck with it and hope you find it usefull.

Further word of warning:
even if you have a factory fitted section of wiring with lpug connected ,you will still need to inspect the rear of the mirror as the wire colours seem to differ across the mirror and the wiring loom ...good old GM like to confuse the colour codes,so check/double check.

Wiring only in place if the car was factory fitted with full electric seats - so most Elites (unless Sports pack fitted) and 1 or 2 CDX's
4 wires to connect if you haven't got loom - 3 to courtesy light, one to passenger kick panel.

Would I be right to think I could get it working by connecting the 2 12v lives and the earth to the wiring for the interior light or the ign live from the sunroof switch as this would make it fairly easy to install rather than run a wire right down to the kick panel.
Its going in a mv6 so won't have the wiring there I'm guessing.
Hopefully I will get it done on thursday at the same time as I will be pulling the clocks out to change a bulb and fit a parrot bluetooth kit.

You only need the wire to the kick panel if you want the dimming disabled when in reverse (recommended!)
But other than that, do as described in the guide and jobs a good un.

The vauxhall chap that i use said that you can take the power from the sunroof and he also said about the passenger kick panel.

Courtesy light is easier, and fitted to all cars ;)

Courtesy light will be more correctly fused as well I expect.
