Title: Gearbox error 41
Post by: vesil on 11 March 2008, 17:47:59
When engine braking from over 100km/h in sports mode i get this error every time.
It doesnt happen from slower speeds, and not in economy mode.

Opelscanner had this to say about it.
But what does this actually mean? Whats broken?

Sounds like the input and output speed of the gearbox are not matched. For example, the ECU is expecting the torque converter to be locked up but it freewheels when you lift off.  :-/

That is what exactly what is happening, but why?
Could it just be wrong type or crappy oil?
But it only happens in sport mode...

A fluid change and filter change will never do any harm...

Another thing. The gearbox oil temperature reads -40 degrees.
Is this sensor supposed to be correct, and does it affect anything when it is wrong? Same reading on my friends -96 Omega.

Thanks.

I'm guessing no sensor actually fitted in Omega boxes, hence why it reads a strange reading.
