hi every one my engine wont rev past 4500 rpm and sometimes if you keep pushing, it cuts out completely and wont restart until car is stationary; light is on, diagnostics said cam sensor changed that today but symptoms remain the same also starter is very sluggish and worst when hot! any ideas ? ps great web site and thanks

Usually cam sensor for 4.5K limit, is the eml still on?
Can be Crank sensor but need to check codes first as crank sensor isn't as easy to replace as cam sensor, especially if you have aircon.

yes eml is still on

DO paper clip test...camshaft sensor is 19 or 31...most likely to be at fault on a v6...

Not a V6!

If eml is still on then either you have another fault or the original fault still exists. Need to read codes to find out which.

thanks will get codes read again ::)

Just to clarify - 19 or 31 is CRANKshaft sensor. Also 31 is not necessarily a fault, whereas 19 is.

Do paperclip test as described in Maintenence Guides section of this site - and post up.
As others said, sounds like CAM sensor, so I'm expecting you to get a 0340 or 94 depending on age of car :)
