Title: Metal relief on floor.
Post by: Olympia5776 on 20 March 2008, 09:50:51
I have searched through the old posts for the info that was posted re relieving the metal around the floor area adjacent to the inner wheel arch to stop creaking . Can Mark DTM or anyone else post it up again.
I find that when I'm turning slowly onto my drive there is a gentle creak at the back as if the shell is distorting  :o I've adjusted the rear estate door rubber stops and sprayed 3 in 1 all around the trim pieces but it's still there.
Sounds a bit OCD  perhaps but I hate creaks or rattles in the car. >:(

Use "silicon" spray on all the door surround rubber seals and also "pack grease" in all the door catches, it is also worth spraying the silicon over all the rubber suspension joints and mountings. Seals tend to dry out over time then start to creak.  :y :y
