Hi All,
Looks like im on the verge of buying my first Omega.
Its a 2000 Facelift 2.2 CDX Estate.
Im going to view it, with a view to taking it away on the night on Tuesday.
What Im looking for is any tips of what to look for? What to look at? And any sounds to hear for etc?
Im taking my Father who knows quite alot on cars, but not neccessarily the Omega, more Cav, Carlton, Vectra.
So any hints, Tips, Walk away from guides would be great.

Some thoughts..
The 4 pots are known to suffer head gasket failure if not serviced regularly (= oil &coolant change ) - so regular service history is useful.
Look for oil leaks in plug wells (not sure how easy on drive by wire..) and at bottom - likely camcover seal (and breathers) need changing/(cleaning).
Check when cambelt last done (should be 40k miles or 4 years). If close or overdue its a good negotiating point (not walk away - but do it soon).
Good luck - should be a good buy if all up to spec (I've got a 98 CDX estate)

Cam belt was done last month with receipt.
Dont have much luck with Headgaskets, Pug 405, Xantia and Polo all went to car heven after HG failures. I thought Omegas were pretty robust on Heads?

V6's are robust, 4 pots are not too bad but seems to be related to having irregular coolant change if I recall.

4pots will last just as long as v6 as long as the coolant has been changed at least every 3/4 years.
108k here on my 2.2, no probs :y
