Title: What the.........
Post by: luv_my_mv6 on 29 March 2008, 00:57:42
Hello again people, I know im as scarce as the sun these days, blame my employers (national express) the new rotas are keeping us working more than living now  >:( today, well for the last week, more recently today, I noticed that when cornering at any sort of speed above 20mph i.e roundabout or long sweeping corner, my car is going into a japanese style power slide regardless of weather the power is down or on over-run, more noticable in the wet or damp and my TC is going mental trying to stop wheel spin when I accelerate from a stand still, its as though for some reason I have power only to one rear wheel if that makes any sense, and im not driving like a psycho either, its literally just enough power to get the car moving and one wheel spins, but the wheels take turns, one start off it'll be the left rear that spins, then at the next starting it might be the right wheel spinning, I considered the diff and lsd, but cant imagine how these would cause such a dramatic and differing problem..... my theory is the electrics to the TC jamming one brake on the rears for some reason, anyone agree or had similar problems?
Please help before my tyres are stuck to the road rather than my alloys  ;D

Buy new tyres

Might not seem as cynical as it sounds, could be contaminated rubber or damaged tyres

Either that or the diff might be on its way out.  See if someone has an LSD going for grabs, if you're going to change the diff you may as well get an LSD :D

Yeah, I suppose that may have cme accross as cynical, for which I apologise. It was not meant in that way at all.

I had a similar problem on a little Pug 306, and it turned out to be contaminated near side rear tyre in the end. For a car which is known to handle well it became a right laugh nightmare on off-camber roundabouts.
