Hello my friends,
I have had nothing but trouble with 2.2 regards limp mode and man light staying on.
I'm told my CAT needs replacing and it would be a good idea to replace the lamber sensors........I thought as a cheap fix I would replace the front lamber sensor as I could not buy the seconed at any motor factor....Anyway it seemed to do the trick. However, the next day :y boy was I wrong. It become a nightmare I lost throttle control the car was chugging on 2-3.....smoke from the exhaust. I gave it 20 clean starts nothing.
I left it for a week and started it today. The same thing. Except while it was running I disconnected the lamber sensor, I got my throttle back. I started to disconnect a volume of electronic things on the engine and restarted.......with the front lamber sensor still disconnected.......Bingo!!!! car is out of limp mode management light still on but I can drive it.......I'm baffled.
Can anyone suggest anything...please help.
Kind Regards...... :y

Did anyone read the fault codes before they suggested replacing things?
Omegas do not like aftermarket parts in quite a few areas, only fit genuine replacement parts!
Without knowing what fault codes you have stored it's difficult to offer you a diagnosis.
Where abouts are you?

Im in Kent, but now it's out of limp mode I can get it to a garage, it's just bizzare that when I disconnect the first lamber sensor, it runs like a new car......
Thanks for your help Sir.......

I just wondered, if you'd been near Nottingham or Northants you could have popped it over to MarkDTM or TheBoy for a TechII.

Where abouts? as I have a scanner, not Tech II but it will give fault codes and a general description of the fault.
