hi there i've got a '97 3.0 elite and the auto box is shafted!  After finding that a recon box is going to cost £1500 i a looking for a donor vehicle.  Will a box from a different sized engine omega fit?
I spoke to a main dealer and they said that vauxhall only use two different auto boxes (not sure how true this is!) but i am non the wiser as to which models use which box
Can anyone help??

yes, needs to be one from 3.0l (AR35), as AR25 fitted to other models will melt with 3.0l power
