In the pouring rain I accidentally put drivers side rear window down instead of my own. Now, when I close it, it goes 3 parts of the way up then comes back down. >:( Got proper wet!! :'( Had to keep tapping up to get it to go up all the way. Any ideas as im baffled. :-[

dab until it is closed all the way then hold the button for at least 5 seconds so that you're "forcing" it up. It should re-"learn" where the top of the window frame is.
-
The window is coming back down cos the window is too tight in the guides & it thinks there's something/one trapped in the window. Lub the guides with silcon spray.
The reset by holding the button in the up just resets this feature after the power has been off.

Think most vauxhalls have this feature dont they?? My astra has got it.
Thanks both will try resetting it first then the silicone spray :y :y

Just tried reseting it and it hasnt worked. there doesnt seem to be any friction as it goes up to cause it to come back down??

I have had exactly the same problem on my rear off-side door for the last month and no (discernible sign of) friction either. I'll just pop out and try some silicone spray now and see if it sorts it and let you know. :y

Nope, no joy :(
There is absolutely no friction at the door to make this happen (I have also now given it a good smear of silicone spray too) and what's more if you dab until after this point the window will then auto-close to the top and not bounce off the top of the door, so it doesn't appear to need to re-learn the height of the door either.
We have the same problem.

Anybody got any ideas to help me n Albatross?? Were desperate now :y ;D

Have tried spray myself now and still no luck. >:(

there will be something there for definate that's causing the safety feature to kick in

Are your windows rising square?,iv'e known it for the guides to come loose or rubbers split, not on Omega's though, just a thought..
-
it could be the internal mechanisem of the window try taking off the door card and having a look might need some new bushes or just lubbing inside.
I got the same problem put it down to that but cant be bothered to take off the door card as i dont have kids and no one really sits in the back that often.

How do you start to remove the rear door card on a face-lift?

theres a good guide in the maint section not sure which door its for but pretty sure they cant be that diffrent. had both my front ones offand it wasa doddle just be carefull of the plastic strip at the top as i snapped mine and it was a pita getting it glued back together.
