As James mention about my sky box not working, I have just rang sky up to cancel my subscription and I just got a very good deal, They offered me a sky+ box for £49 and my bill will be £21 a month as before i was paying £43 a month and the sky+ boxes are normally £149, i was well please with the offer they offered me and they are coming this Friday to install it, what a result i got, I have a big smile on my face now :)

yep sure is ken, mind you i was with them for 10 yrs in my old house and i never missed a payment and been with them for 2yrs where I'm living now, so all in all i have been a good customer and they have had lots of money out of me for there service's so i deserve a box at that price don't you think .....

Sounds good, just make sure that the deal doesn't revert to full price after 6 or 12 months!

thanks for reminding me about that i did'nt think about that but i will keep an eye on my statements to see if there will be any changes now

Standard operating practice with sky.....if you ever have any porblem just call and start by saying 'I need to cancel because.....'
Say this and they always replace faulty kit, sort packages etc.
A good result though

Maria - will this still include internet?
Or shall I get the packet sniffer out and break the encryption for next door's WiFi? [smiley=evil.gif]

Right. Sounds like I need to break my Sky box. Shall we have a sweepstake on how many volts before it pops? ;D

Just put a towel over it for a day or two and it will cook.....the design and cooling of the things are pretty crap!

If it catches fire and melts my telly do you think they'll buy me a new one of those so I can contunue my subscription?
It's not far off catching fire when it's uncovered TBH. As you say, cr@p. Takes 20 watts minimum, day and night, standby or on >:(

Sky are in my bad books at the moment. Saturday morning, I got up to go to work (overtime) to find that my sky+ box was stuck on standby. After a bit of research in the web, it turns out that this is not an uncommon problem. Sky of course claim that it never happens.
So, after a brief chat with a YTS monkey at Sky's "Technical Helpdesk", the arranged to sent out a Technician on Monday (yesterday). He replaced the box and all was well again.
This morning, I switched on my telly to be greated with the "no satelite signal is being received". On the phone again.
They are coming out again tomorrow to take another look....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
