Title: Siezed engine removal

Hi Chaps
Have just bought a car with a siezed engine. Have checked cam belt all fine, crank will not turn.
So should I remove engine with auto box attached or is it worth dropping sump and removing mains and big end caps to try to get the crank to turn to undo the torque converter attachments bolts ?

My favourite at the moment is to remove sump etc. first. As even if I take it out with auto box I still have the problem when it is on the bench.

Any advice/experiences people could give would be much appreciated.

I'd separate the gearbox and engine in case the problem is the gearbox.

No need to unbolt the torque convertor, box will pull off leaving convertor behind.
You might drain as much fluid as possible from the cooler pipes and box first just to avoid getting too wet.
When replacing then its much better to put the convertor onto the gearbox splines and dogs and offer the whole lot up to the engine.
