Title: just what happens when your bored

Fedup of waiting for the mega to develop any probs. so after 15 months decided to do some outstanding jobs.

cambelt, water pump, cam followers, rocker covers, suspension front and rear, filters, etc.

wait for it to good to be true.

Turn the key nothing absolutely nothing, compeletly dead.

All wiring checked, starter, charger, circuits checked all seem ok.

i suspect it has somthing to do with the security system, battery neg disconected. Am I now on the right track if so what should i be looking for.

it has a new heavt duty battery fitted.

Any and all sujestions welcomed, have done absolutely zilch on Omega security.

Are you getting any lights on the dash at all ??  

If so .. does the EML light flash quickly .. if so . transponder error

If no lights at all .. check all the big fuses in the box by the battery

Assuming that you have checked the "new" battery and it is A) charged, B) connected correctly ...  :)

Hi,  

     Nothing at all not even the locks,  fuses checked battery ok couple of months old fully charged. All wiring to the rear of engine recheked, all connectors. everything electrical that has been moved in order to remove the cam covers has been recheked, and seem ok. The harness again removed from the side tray and checked. It is completely dead which leads me to think that it has somthing to do with the car security.

I got confused as well ... I thought  I've already answered this post ...  :)


Car security only kicks in when system has power ... yours has no power .. its  either a fuse or a connection issue

there is three earth wires on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head !! if these are not connected nowt will work matey talking from past experence  ::) ::)
